Last year we started to work with Julie. I lunged her and showed Phoebe also how to lunge. We played with her for a while on the ground then quietly introduced her to the saddle and bridle.
Then as usual winter comes and most of my time is taken up with feeding ponies and of course Phoebe was at school and often at weekends played netball.
She is a very busy young lady between school netball and playing the coronet.
However we did manage to get in a few more sessions with Julie.
In the Spring of 2025 there were no foals here at Pitmenzie so most of our attention was once again focussed on Julie.
We have worked away and our aim was to show her at Fife Show in hand then onto the Highland Pony Society Breed Show in July.
At Fife Show Phoebe was 2nd in the Young Handlers class .
Move on to the Breed Show where we had great fun and Phoebe came home with £35 in prize money.
Julie was 3rd in hand. 1st in Walk and Trot and 4th in the Young Handlers.
We were very happy!
Now Phoebe is riding Julie out by herself as Euan and I would hold her back!
She is now cantering and we can’t wait to take her to her next show.
